De Bharr na gCnoc has been recorded by many singers and musicians through the years, including by Na Filí which featured the late Derry piper, academic and singer Tomás Ó Canainn. Dr Ó Canainn’s collection, ‘Traditional Slow Airs of Ireland,’ was a firm point of reference for Brendan’s teaching in later years.

Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
